Well, in this part of the blog, ill be writing up on games, and there seems to be something wrong with the heading, girls dont play games O.O well decide by yourself if that should b there.

Anyway, this section will probably be dedicated to games, not only video games, but boardgames and others aswell. I promise to submit 5 games every week, sunday night, 4 of them will be anything ( i choose ) or u can give me what you want to be reviewed. the last game will be a flash game taken from any site, for all to enjoy.

please people, if you want to submit any type of game, tell me first, ill do the rest, jun vinh will also be doing stuff here, so u can ask him too k?

Finally, lets be mature and keep it clean, NO spam, NO flame comments and please be decent and no asking me to post some porn game you saw last night because you were high and/or drunk.

Well, this page will be dedicated to useful apps/widgets/misc. stuff for your entertainment/educational(?) needs. Me and Qi Shaun will post a few useful apps/widgets/misc. stuff (ngah! repeat offender) with some reviews of it every weekend or so. Be sure to check often!
Oh, and some tips:

Widgets – be sure not to clog up your dashboard with too many widgets, as it slows down your computer ALOT. Unless you have a Macbook Pro or an upgraded comp, 512MB will DIE under the mass widget load.

Desktop – try to keep your desktop as organized as possible. Mac treats each folder on your desktop as a separate window. If you keep, say, 50 folders on your desktop, it’s like having 50 windows open at the same time. Armaggedon.

Hey, hope people are still reading this blog. I am currently in Switzerland and it’s cold, bad weather. But then I was in Milan (fashion capital) and soon I’ll be going to France. Well anyway, I haven’t written in the blog for a while

so first things first,

as some of you may know, the history alive project has already started.

Sorry I am not there to help out but when I come back, I’ll be glad to help out with teaching the game and painting. The orchestra people are going to kill me because I took a “holiday” but anyway, I will still be writing a 5 must buy games ( seriously ) they’re good games because I was at the Speil ’08 and witness alot of good games.

If you want to know more, just ask me when I come back.

Finally because the shops in Europe close at 7pm, (yeah it’s friggin early) but the purpose is so people have a life. not like our shops which really never close, and food here is sooooo expensive. But all in all, it’s a good trip so far ( got lost in Milan, though) .

Hey guys, sorry for being late (once again) but I was sick this weekend . Anyway, I wish everyone who is taking the Final Examinations good luck and best wishes.

5. Flash Game of the Week: Interactive Buddy!

1. Metal Gear Solid 4  ( Old guys can fight )

Basically, this is THE best game in the PS3 genre, possibly the X-box, too, but you decide. The story is way too long for me to explain here, so if you want, you can go find out yourself. The good thing about this game is that you can improvise your “sneaking” – by that, I mean you can literally hide in a cardboard box. With that, I’m sure “other” options are open to you . Online is AWESOME. That’s just it, you gotta play it to understand.

2. Resistance 2  ( Zombie ? )

Not really. Basically, the is the sequel of the hit game, Resistance. In a varied history, London succumbs to the ‘Chimera virus’, a lethal virus that makes you look like an alien. The virus is Russian-made and accidentally leaked. Meaning that Russia is infected and London, too. The sequel shows that the virus has left London and infected America. So, you’re an American soldier sent out to London (in the original) and now, you are fighting for your life and the hopes in America. The online part of this game is also good with 60 players max per server ( that is F****ing big. Seriously.)

3. Starcraft   :) <—- I’m in the armour

Just kidding. This game was made in 1998, and is still one of the best games of all time. If you’re good at this game, you can win big. It’s actually a profession in Korea, at least 1 mil in prizes, and you know that’s big.

This game’s story is also quite long and wide, so on your own time, find it. It’s quite nice to read.

4. Stratego  

Well, it’s also an old game but it’s a GOOD game. You play as an old Napoleonic officer, commanding troops against another commander a.k.a. your buddy. It’s a very good mind game but quite hard to find nowadays. But you can ask me “wink”"wink”

Exam getting too much stress on you? Too much work? This is your stress relieve buddy. Meet Buddy, the guy who would do anything to please you. Shoot him and he will be angry. Play it, guys, it will relieve you.

Alright, once again, sorry for the late post, still have Internet problems. So, lets begin. 5 games that have been chosen for this week are:

1. Settlers of Catan

1. 

This is Settlers of Catan, the best management game in the world. Basically, what you have to do in this game is build up a good, stable economy. Easy, right?
You’re wrong.
Why? Because there are 3 other players trying to achieve the same goal, and your “stable economy” isn’t that stable. This is because your settlements only produce resources when their number is rolled. So this means when you put your settlements near a place that has a 12 on it, you’re rolling a 2 6-sided dice and hoping you get a 12. That isn’t very good.

2. Flames of War, 
(Poor guys, having to sit there while their friends get drunk )

Well, as you all know, during Friday’s assembly, Dr. Rizal made the announcement. So, who wants to join? If you would like to sign up, ask me . k? If you think this game is about war and only for guys, then you don’t know how wrong you are. This game is about thinking, and a lot of it. You can play with 2 people or more. You each have forces, according to your nation (America, German, British or Soviets) What you do is tactically think about how you’re going to defeat your opponent. The interesting part about this game is you paint your own forces, according to your own uniforms. (Please people : war colours, no pink uniforms).

3. Wings of War 

In the 21st century, air combat is so fast that it’s over in 5 minutes and you don’t have to be good. All you do is press a big red button while your aircraft locks on your enemy. “BOOM!” the enemy is dead – you don’t even get to see his face. Now, if you ever wanted to see your opponent face to face in the air, then shoot him. This game allows you to do it!

You play as a WW1 pilot and you navigate your plane through the skies, then blazing your machine guns and finishing your opponent. You can play this game with a group representing a squad or fighting solo in a duel. What’s great about this game is that you see your opponent, know him and if you defeat him, it gives you more satisfaction than killing him 5 km away. And if you become an ace, it shows you are truly the best of the best.

4. Loco Roco 

Well, living peacefully on a faraway planet, the LocoRoco and their friends, the Mui Mui, help grow vegetation and look after nature, making the planet a pleasant place to be, playing and singing the days away. When the Moja Troop comes to the planet to take over, the LocoRoco do not know how to fight against these invaders from outer space. As such, the player assumes the role of “the Planet” that it is capable of tilting back and forth, and bouncing the LocoRoco in the air to defeat the Moja Troop and rescue the LocoRoco. The player will also meet many different characters along the way, some of which are unknown to the player. The player must find out how to interact with these characters and find out what they know, while determining if they are beneficial or should be avoided as foes. Mui Mui can be found in secret areas within the game.

Alright, sorry for the long wait – I have HUGE problems with my Internet this week.

Right, this week’s 5 games are -

1. Make You Gunfighter ( its not a grammar mistake its actually the name of the game)

2. Call of Duty 4 ( old game but still nice )

3. Little Big Planet

and last but not least, the Flash Game of the Week,

5. Impossible Quiz (it’s old but I’m sure some of you haven’t played this yet )

First off

 

1. Make You Gunfighter - this game puts you in the shoes of a cowboy gang leader, trying to “take out” other gangs. You start the game with 4 cards, each representing a place your gang member is hiding. The starting player then plays a card, and selects a player, who will then have to show all cards with the matching place, indicating that his members who are hiding in that spot have died. Secondly, you can earn money by killing other people’s gang members, thus allowing you to buy “story cards”. These cards will give you an advantage or kill one of your own gang members. Finally, if you are down to your last card, you stand alone in an epic moment where you are willing to do something heroic. Such heroism will reward you with a special card, giving you a special ability like a sniper rifle, but remember, if you are shot once more, you lose.

2. Call of Duty 4 (for PC, Mac, PS3, xBox360)

Well, this is a simple point-and-shoot game. You start as a low ranking foot-soldier, who will later gain enough points to advance to a higher level. With each level, you unlock new abilities like faster reloads, better guns and so on. This game requires no teamwork, ( or minimal ), so you can pretty much go rambo all the way. Such joy ^.^

3. Little Big Planet

This is an abstract game, where basically, you play as a ragdoll (or vodoo doll) and you “think” objects into your world, creating an environment. You can do multiple things like creating 2 cylinders and putting a plank on top of it, only to jump on it and ride it like a skateboard. It is not released yet so I can’t give you much information about gameplay, but basically, that’s it.

4. Blokus

Well, this is the BEST abstract game in the whole world, winning every board game award in 2006.

It’s a game where you use 21 different shapes to fill up the board. The winner is the person who has the least tiles when nobody can play anymore.

The trick is:

1. the board is too small

2. there are 4 players.

If you can win this game, it shows that you can think differently, and also proves that you are smarter than every one else who played with you – insert bragging here – ^.^

And lastly,

5. Impossible quiz !!!! (Sorry, no pics)

Basically, in this flash game, you have to answer a quiz. Simple, right?

Wrong. This quiz will test your every skill, and yes, including stupidity. To finish it, you have to answer silly questions, click insanely, and be patient. As a warning, heed the word Patience. But if you have finished it, it shows you have No life whatsoever (hehe) ^.^ or you are actually very smart – or dumb, depending how long it took you to figure the quiz out.
